About Develative
Develative builds engineering teams in Latin America for clients in fintech, insurance, and other industries. Our engineers work directly with client teams, help make technical decisions, and take responsibility for what they build. We stay involved throughout each engagement through regular check-ins, feedback, and support.
About the client
Our client builds software for actuaries, helping them work with data and predictive models. Its small engineering team works closely with the founding team and uses Rust, React, and AWS. Infrastructure is managed with Pulumi and TypeScript.
About the role
You’ll take responsibility for the infrastructure and tooling that keep the product running and help engineers ship changes safely. Your work will cover AWS infrastructure, deployments, observability, reliability, and capacity as usage grows.
We’re looking for someone who can identify what needs attention, explain the options, and implement a solution the team can maintain. You should enjoy hands-on engineering and understand the constraints of a small startup.
Responsibilities
You’ll work alongside product engineers to improve how the application is deployed, monitored, and operated.
Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using Pulumi and TypeScript.
Improve CI/CD pipelines and make deployments repeatable and easier to troubleshoot.
Develop monitoring, logging, and alerting that help the team understand system behavior.
Investigate production issues across infrastructure and application boundaries.
Identify performance bottlenecks and plan for changes in usage and capacity.
Review access controls, configuration, and cloud resource usage.
Build tooling that reduces repetitive work for the engineering team.
Document infrastructure decisions and operational procedures.
Recommend priorities based on reliability, security, cost, and the team’s immediate needs.
Qualifications
You should have experience operating production systems and be able to explain the decisions behind the infrastructure you’ve built.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
Experience managing infrastructure as code, including reviewing and safely deploying changes.
Proficiency in TypeScript or another programming language used to build infrastructure tooling.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Practical knowledge of observability and production troubleshooting.
Understanding of cloud networking, permissions, and application security fundamentals.
Ability to balance reliability and scalability with cost and implementation effort.
Clear written and spoken English.
Comfort working independently and communicating decisions and progress asynchronously.
Nice to have
Experience with the following tools and environments would help you get started.
Hands-on experience with Pulumi and TypeScript.
Familiarity with Rust services.
Experience supporting data-intensive or analytical applications.
Experience building infrastructure for a small startup team.
What we offer
You’ll work closely with the founder and engineering team, with Develative providing ongoing support throughout the engagement.
A remote role with responsibility for infrastructure and developer tooling.
Input into architecture, operational priorities, and implementation decisions.
Direct collaboration with the engineers using the systems you build.
The opportunity to improve how a growing product is deployed and operated.
Regular check-ins and feedback from Develative.
Sounds like you? Apply!
We'd love to meet you, please send your resume and why you think you're a good fit for this role to mfonollat@develative.com
